"Adoption is God's Love given twice."
This message comes though loud and clear in Kelsey Stewart's debut, The Best for You. This little book, targeted for the younger child who was adopted (ages 4-8) packs a big and positive message; one that answers the common questions: "Did she love me?" "Why did she give me away?" and "Does she think about me?"
Stewart's beautiful illustrations are spot-on, reinforcing the warm and candid message that she shares. Her simple words speak directly to the child from her birthmother's perspective.
The Best for You is a joy to read and look at. The broad scope of the book is perfect for children who are fostered as well as children who were adopted through foster care, domestic adoption, or international adoption.
I will be giving this book as a gift to future adoptive parents after witnessing my daughter's reaction, "It's good, Mom. She loved her baby and made her choice for her baby. You know, that's what my birthmother did."
