Story Circle Book Reviews

reviewing books by, for, and about women

October 2009, Vol. 2, No 6

StoryCircleBookReviews seeks out books that tell the truth about women's lives. We especially provide a review venue for small presses and for women authors who may not be reviewed elsewhere. If you're looking for reviews of mass-market, high-profile books, you'll find those on other sites. If you're looking for strong, insightful, well-written books by women of strength and courage, you'll find them here. With almost 800 reviews, Story Circle Book Reviews is the largest and most comprehensive women's book review site on the Internet. For previous issues of our monthly eletter, go here.

You could win a cameo appearance in one of Susan Wittig Albert's three mystery series: the China Bayles Herbal Mysteries, the Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter, or the Darling Dahlias Garden Mysteries. SCN Mentor Program: SCN offers opportunities for self-directed writers working on a specific writing project. We connect you with a helpful mentor who provides you with individually tailored, constructive assistance designed to help you strengthen your writing, sustain your efforts, and complete your projects. SCN mentors are published lifewriters. They fully understand the challenges we face when we choose to write about our lives.

SCN Online Classes: The Story Circle Network offers the only online lifewriting program designed exclusively for women. We teach general writing skills, organization, and critical editing, as well as technical skills in book design and development, online marketing, blogging, and other Internet-related activities. True Words From
Real Women

"We have to make myths of our lives, the point being that if we do, then every grief or inexplicable seizure by weather, woe, or work can.if we discipline ourselves and think hard turned to account, be made to yield further insight into what it is to be alive, to be a human being."
—May Sarton
